With only five ingredients and being keto approved, this low carb garlic alfredo sauce will soon become a favorite go-to fix for your Italian pasta dish craving!

Ingredients
1tbspbutter
1-2clovesgarlicminced
4ozcream cheesesoftened to room temperature
4-5tbspheavy cream
1/3cupfreshly grated parmesan
pinchnutmeg
salt and fresh-cracked pepper to taste
Garnish
4sprigsbasiloptional
1tspparmesangrated by hand, optional
Instructions
Heat a large skillet to medium heat
Add butter
When butter is melted, add garlic and sauté until garlic is fragrant
Add cream cheese to the pan and break up into smaller pieces to melt faster
Melt until creamy, stirring frequently to keep cream cheese from burning
Add heavy cream and stir continuously until a creamy sauce has formed
Add parmesan and stir until well blended
Add more cream as necessary to reach the desired consistency of the sauce. Keep in mind that the alfredo sauce will thicken up a little bit upon standing
Stir in nutmeg, salt and pepper to taste until well blended
Add whatever noodles or base you're using to the pan and toss until evenly coated
(Optional) garnish with basil and/or freshly grated parmesan, and serve immediately
Notes
If sauce starts to thicken up, stir in more cream (or alternatively water) until the consistency has returned to your preference. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 3 days.
